Finding James in "The Scar"

So I just wanted to write a quick tid bit on the meaning of "the scar"...in case you missed it. The first thing
my sister told me after reading it was "I don't get it" so maybe no one did. If you haven't read the story yet, read that first.
So here we go:
1. The island is just like earth
2. The people are just like us
3. The people seemed to be good people just like we think we are good people.
4. A messenger came to tell the people that destruction was coming like Jesus came to tell us. However, the scarred man was not meant to be Jesus. Don't confuse that.
5. The scar meant he was chosen.
6. The part of the sand and the rock was meant to confuse you. You see...many of us know the song "the wise man built his house upon the rock". So, usually we think of the rock as the safe place. I made the sand the safe place because that didn't make sense to us. In the same way, Jesus didn't make sense to the Pharisees when he came. The Pharisees knew what they thought was safe (like the island people thought they knew the rocks would be safe).
7. The children represent the need for us to become children as Christ commanded (Matthew 18:3)
8. The wave represented coming judgment.
9. The adults represented those who hold on to what they think will save them but reject Jesus.
10. The X was not an X at all, but when the scarred man's hand was turned, the boy saw that it was really a cross.

Hope that makes sense.
