I am the Moon (a poem)

The moon is like a piece of glass
Reflecting the light, but not the light
Beauty reflected, but not of itself
Visible by day, beaming at night
~
When the sun is up there is no need
For the moon to shine or be in the sky
To light a path or show the way
Visible by day, beaming at night
~
But when the sun is gone and the world is dark
The moon is a friend, a welcome sight
To the weary traveler, lost and alone
Visible by day, beaming at night
~
The sun and the moon are the very best of friends
The sun is a boy, the moon is his kite
Moon  being held by an invisible string
Visible by day, beaming at night
~
And when eyes cannot see because clouds are above
And the moon, it be covered, and not shining bright
Still it shines, though no man, woman, or child should see
Visible by day, beaming at night
~
I am the moon, and the sun is my God
The love that He shares is the light
May my life be a perfect reflection of Him
Visible by day, beaming at night.
